PAST EVENTS — Morris Car Club of SA Inc

Sunday 21st January 2018 members met at the Burnside Council Chambers for a 9-45 departure. There was a good rollup, mostly members in there modern motors because of the hot weather we were having. About six brave members in their morries.

We departed Burnside 9.45 and headed up the freeway to Stirling exit, through the township of Stirling, on through the township of Bridgewater to Derick & Helen Stubbs property in Bridgewater. Here we stopped for a pleasant morning tea break of the most scrumptious scones and tea or coffee. We thank Derick and Helen Stubs for opening up their property.

We departed from here around 11AM for a pleasant drive through Aldgate, Mylor, Echunga, Meadows, Ashbourne to Finniss. We were treated to a marvellous two course lunch in the outdoor dining area of the Finniss General Store, Here President Patrick Gauci presented Peter & Marija with 20 year medals,

Another great Australia Day Run organised by John & Judy Cooper, Steve & Gloria Jesser and helpers. On behalf of The 53 members who attended I thank you for all the time and effort you put in these outing to make them enjoyable and memorable . Vin Y

SUNDAY 26 NOVEMBER ECONOMY RUN.

We met at the clubrooms at 9-30 am for a 10am start. First a stop to top up petrol tanks. Then it was time to head for the hills and a journey which took members through several twists and turns whilst making their way through the course. Following a pleasant morning tea stop at Mylor the next destination was Finch Restorations at Mount Barker but not before re-filling the petrol tanks at a servo en route. During lunch in a nearby park Patrick read out the results.

Patrick's report; The winners on the day doing the 38.2 mile drive in a Morris Woody with its 1275 engine were Derick and Helen Stubs using only a remarkable 3.47L or 0.76 of an Imperial Gallon.

There was also a impromptu competition as we stopped for morning tea. Each driver on their arrival had to park as close to a witches hat that they could not see without touching it. The winner Alan Stone in his Morris 2 door 15 cm away.
